was created by Paul Hartley who was a founder partner of breakfastandbrunch.com now believed to be the largest breakfast information portal on the worldwide web. From this platform, and being a Marmite baby, he developed a commercial relationship with Unilever culminating in the chance to write the Marmite Cookbook now a best seller and the first of many iconic brand cook books to follow. To date these include Bovril, Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce, Lyles Golden Syrup, Heinz Tomato Ketchup, HP Sauce and Guinness. As a result of the great success of the Marmite Cookbook, the team at Breakfast and Brunch created Marmite Biscuits. These sold over three million packets in the first three years and were taken by all the major supermarkets.
It was with the passion to promote breakfast that Brekkers was developed to fill a gap in the Monday – Friday to-go market where the alternatives were few and breakfast was becoming a meal to ‘skip’ or replace with a chocolate bar and a can of cola during a busy weekday schedule. Research having proved that the English Breakfast is one of the most popular meals in the world Brekkers has accomplished its aim of providing the taste and aroma of the English Breakfast in a very easy to prepare form.
The concept which has taken 3 years to fully develop was originally in a wet form but understanding that it would be the perfect alternative to enjoy in aeroplanes, trains and automobile food stops it was converted to a de-hydrated product. We met J.L.Priestley who are one of the world leaders in de-hydrated food preparation and together with their scientist, Richard Wells, they have mixed and blended Brekkers ready for you to enjoy.
Brekkers has been diligently market researched with tastings on building sites, Brighton seafront, university campuses, school breakfast clubs, sailing and adventure centres, care homes, fitness clubs and large commercial offices. The reaction proved the public loved the taste, the concept, the tactile feel of the cup and strongly endorsed the Brekkers brand
