Santa Cruz County is celebrating the 4th of July with a bang! There are tons of family friendly events happening all around the county in celebration of Independence Day. Check out some of our top to-dos on your 4th of July in Santa Cruz!
Scotts Valley 4th of July Parade & Fireworks
Scotts Valley goes all out in celebration of the 4th. A spirited parade begins at 3pm on Scotts Valley Drive that is sure to entertain. At 4pm move over to Skypark for an outrageous BBQ, music, games, petting zoo & much more! The fireworks show begins at 9:15pm and it is sure to impress! Advance tickets $6, at the door $8 (4 and under free). Activities and food are not included in price of admission.
This Aptos parade may be short, but it doesn’t skimp on fun. There’s a pancake breakfast beginning at 7:30 and the parade follows at 10am with live music, games, arts, crafts and more. Post-parade, head to the nearby beaches for some ocean-side rays.
Roaring Camp’s 4th of July Family Fun Events
If you haven’t been to Roaring Camp Railroads, you may not know that the place is somewhat magical. Find yourself back in time in the unique setting modeled after a 1880s logging town. For their 4th of July celebrations bring the entire family for a fun-filled day of games, live music and an all-American barbecue.
Travel back in time at Wilder Ranch State Park for an Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration! The parade begins at noon, but come early, dress in your 1900s garb and join in the fun. Flag raising, speeches, patriotic music, historic lawn games, draft horse wagon rides, crafts, cake walk and more. Event is admission free; parking is $10; food and drink for sale.
Spirit of Watsonville
For some south county 4th of July celebrating, head to the Spirit of Watsonville Festival and Parade. A crowd pleaser of a parade with tractors, custom cars and bikes, men and women in uniform and members of the community, it is sure to get you in the spirit! Check out this showing 2013’s fun events.
Although it’s not a specific 4th of July celebration, we are willing to guess that the Friday Night Bands on the Beach at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on the 4th will be a spirited affair. Bring a beach blanket or some low back chairs and watch The Tubes featuring Fee Waybill rock the night away.
