America will forever be Britain's younger, bigger, much cooler sibling.
The one spoiled with all the best things first, and who is allowed them WAY before we were.
And so it follows, Team U.S.A will soon get to enjoy the delights of a McDonald's breakfast all day.— McDonald's (@McDonalds)
The new all-day breakfast menu, to be launched on October 6, will include hotcakes, yogurt parfaits, oatmeal, hash browns and sausage burritos among other items.
But, just as people who love to sleep in AND need a egg McMuffin to cure their hangover were about to rejoice, came a crushing realisation.
The gift of all day breakfast is being given only to the Yanks.
McDonald's has no plans to roll out all day breakfast in the UK at the moment, and that's unlikely to change any time soon.
The problem is related to the size of McDonald's grills.
Apparently, the chain restaurants don't have enough room to accommodate cooking and preparing breakfast and main menus at the same time.
They state: "The reason we don't serve breakfast all day is due to the fact that the Universal Holding Cabinet (UHC) during the day is almost at full capacity and there is nowhere to store breakfast products as well as main menu items.
"Of course, it is up to the discretion of the franchisee manager if they want to offer a breakfast option throughout the day."
MirrorOnline spoke to McDonald's and unfortunately this will remain the case for the foreseeable future.
